Hi,
I experienced a similar issue with my '91 940 sedan.
I had to take the door off by unbolting the hinges from the access of the front door well, the space 'tween the two doors on the body. This enabled the door to be moved out from the latch and removed. Gotta be conscientious and mark the door hinges so they will go back to the (close) original.
I had a hell of a time getting my front door aligned over this past weekend, but that is another story.
Anyway try that and good luck. I think you should have an easy time of it.
