Fuel pump questions 140-160 1969

could be your FP could be other stuff (line blockage from rust/trash, float valves etc) or not even fuel related. Throwing parts at problems with out proper diagnoses is expensive and time consuming. On the up side, sooner or later you have replaced a bunch of stuff and don't have to worry about those systems anymore. BTDT.
Anyhoo, cross check your diagnosis, and FWIW a new correct FP is a nice reassuring thing to have installed.
MAke sure you get the correct one, I had an aftermarket one that needed a Fuel pressure regulator and was not happy with it as on long fast highway runs I could starve the carbs, but needed to keep the fuel pressure low so it would not flood the carbs in city stop and go traffic.
