Volvo sold 3 different Pierberg fuel pumps.

And none of them are available new, except for NOS units.

There is a guy on ebay selling what are supposed to be Pierberg fuel pumps for $139.00, but I bought half a dozen of the exact same fuel pump from the same source as the ebayer, but they were not Pierberg manufactured fuel pumps, so I returned them.


The "Pierberg" fuel pumps were one of the cheap replacemens that we have been having problems with too much fuel pressure. Those fuel pumps I bought did come in a Pierberg box, but the fuel pumps had part numbers and the original manufacturers marks machined off and the box had different part numbers than the last version of the quality Pierberg fuel pumps that we used to get as I saved the numbers.

The bottom line is if you have 1 of the 2 earlier versions of Pierberg fuel pump, I would strongly suggest getting a rebuild kit as the rebuild kits are still available.

And the thing that ticks me off the most is there are ebayers willing to pay $139.00 for a fuel pump that can be had for less than $75.00 and the same ebayer is also getting people to pay $134.00 for door mirrors that you can buy right from Volvo, or our shop as I usually stock them, for under $90.00.
