Hey there. 90 volvo 740 turbo. WP = water pump, PSP = power steering pump
I don't like that the power steering and water pump run on the same belt. Is there an alternate belt routing that would let me run the PS pump off of one belt, and add the water pump to the alternator or AC? Or to run the PS pump, alt, and Water pump, then add the AC somewhere, or.... You know, there are 4 things driven by the harmonic balancer, but only 3 tracks for a belt. Can I isolate the water pump to its own belt?
Or maybe it's paired to the PS pump so it's obvious if you lose a belt. I'm not really sure, but the power steering is the most problematic of my accessories, and the last thing I want is to put it and my most critical - the water pump - together.
Cheers!
Happy St. Patty's day!
May the road rise up to greet you,
May the wind be at your back,
Way the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rains fall soft upon your fields until we meet again.
