Thanks for the great response. It will take me some time to digest it all. One thing is becoming obvious, and that's the fact that my fume problem is intermittent. Since checking the codes and clearing them, the check engine light has not come on, and the fumes haven't been noticeable. I'll let you know how this develops and I'll process your last message when I can get a bit of time to concentrate on it.
