Code 221 700

I checked at port 6 and there weren't any codes there. I've remembered something that probably explains my condition for the 221 code. I recently got the flame trap kit from IPD and was surprised to see that my vehicle did not have a flame trap in place. All of the hoses were there, but no flame trap. When I installed the kit, it was so difficult to get the new hose down below the manifold that I put the old hose back on, and it was relatively loose. I have a feeling that's where the leak is occurring and the smell I'm getting is fumes from the crankcase. Does that sound likely? Have you ever replaced that bent hose for the flame trap. Man, is it difficult to work it into place! I'll have to buck up and try again with the new hose.
