Yes, Tony, I'm kinda in a rush after shutting off the torch. Candle, then vise grips, as quickly as possible. Rusty studs on exhaust parts mostly, including the head.

But, I must emphasize, I have not tried to, or needed to use this procedure on a brake line fitting. Frankly, that would set off a lot of alarm bells in my viscera, for the potential of having hot brake fluid to deal with.

This isn't really directly applicable, but points out sometimes what we don't know can hurt us.
