Thanks guys for all the responses, tips and help.
Art, didn't know about fuse #7. Thought the shift lock was only tied to fuse #12. I overlooked the fact that it was also tied to fuse #7 when I browsed through the Bentley manual before I did any troubleshooting.
I had removed fuse #12, checked it out and there was no corrosion. When you mentioned fuse #7 I checked that out this afternoon. It wasn't blown but I removed it and the ends were worn and had a little bit of corrosion on it.
As prevention I removed all the old fuses (some of them were worn and some were slightly corroded) and replaced them with the Flosser brand fuses with the copper contacts-which I have read on here seem to be a bit more reliable. I also lightly wire brushed the fuse block contacts.
Again thanks for all the help.
