Battery drain solved? 700 1987

'87 745 Turbo M46 549K Been trying to find a .599 amp. drain for a few days. Pulled all the fuses, all the relays, bypassed the starter, disconnected the alternator finally saw the drain stop when I disconnected the fuel control, tried a spare-no change.

Began disconnecting the inputs, AMM,knock sensor and when the idle air control was disconnected the drain dropped back to .009 or less?

The resistance tests indicated one circuit of the IAC to be 42 ohms rather than the specified 20 ohms.

Before I spring for the $187 new part am I on the right track? I had thought when the key was off there was no power supplied to the FI control or is it grounding internally and feeding back?

Seems like slightly more than 1/2 amp would not be a dead short.

Electrical problems are not my strong suite!

Thanks for any advice!
