940 seat removal. Question not covered in FAQ 900

Hi all,

I recently purchased a '94 940 wagon for dirt cheap because it has a bad heater core. I've bypassed the core, so it's drivable for now, but I still have an ugly job in my future 8-)

I want to pull the carpets in order to properly clean up the mess left by the leaking coolant. While I'm at it, I thought I'd pull the front seats to service the gunked-up adjusting mechanism.

FAQ simply says "remove the four bolts", but on mine, the front two bolts are sort of ... surrounded... by a plastic or metal block that prevents getting a socket on the bolt. So far I've been unable to discover how to move/remove these blocks. What am I missing?

Thanks,

Monty
