Engine assembly, tips? 120-130

Hello,

I have never found the correct size of square male socket to remove the original oil galley plugs.

I usually have to drill them and use an extractor.

For this particular job I do not like to use an Easy Out.

I have a set of similar tools I bought from Snap On, but their have more flutes to grab the inside of the drilled hole.

Last week, I was dismantling a B16 for rebuilding and I needed to remove the forward oil galley plug and on a lark I tried one of the smaller Irwin brand extractors from a set I bought from Kragen that is advertised to remove stripped nuts and bolts.

I pounded it on and it actually got a good enough bite on the outside of the protruding section of the oil galley plug and it pulled it right out.
