Hello,
Santa brought me a new set of Kenwood 100mm (4 inch) speakers and I finally got around to installing them this weekend. Pulled the entire passengers door panel and found that the bottom section of the of the door panel was all busted up. That speaker was not working since when the radio was moved down to the lower slot. Traced the problem to one of my crimps pulling loose. In other words I have found the problem and he is me. Found that the grill of the speaker was higher on the lower end and that the window handle was rubbing it. Flipping the speaker grill over so the word Kenwood was upside down fixed that problem.
Figured out all you need to do to replace the speaker is to pop off the grill, unscrew the old speaker screws and pull it out. Plug in the wires, screw in new speaker and it was done. The word Kenwood was upside down to solve the window handle rub.
This AM on the drive to work went through the buttons and it was just blah blah blah. So fired up the iPhone hit the Car Driving Playlist slid it down to Edgar Winters Frankenstein and let it loose. Crank it up loud and it is clear as a bell. Then after a couple of other songs I had to turn it back down because maybe it was too loud and I am too old.
Regards,
Paul
