I seem to recall that people who've done this cut a small section out of the radiator hose and install a short PVC pipe with the switch in that... but like I say, I can't find those old posts with the search function... must be the wrong keywords.

...Although, you'd like "cooling fan" would return more than 10 hits on the entire BB.
