Basic question 200 1988

Hey Dave,

Just in case you'd like to know, MAP is short for manifold absolute pressure. It measures engine load my determining engine vacuum. With a air temperature sensor, and a barometric pressure sensor (BARO, often built into the ecu), it allows the fuel injection ecu to calculate air mass indirectly. The MAF does this directly.

Cheers, Jon 'Uncle Olaf'
