Ignition switch replacement 120-130 1966

Dylan,

Are you looking to replace the entire switch assembly or just the barrel? It sounds, from your description, that the switch needs to be replaced.

If you still have the armored coil and want to keep that setup, it would be really expensive to change the coil and switch.

If your car has been converted to a more readily available coil then the armored cable has already been cut to expose the wire to connect the original switch. If that is the case you can replace the switch with a universal replacement switch.

Time to change original coil and switch -- about an hour.
Time to change original key switch on a cut armored cable -- about 3/4 hour.
Time to cut the armored cable and convert to universal switch -- about an hour and a half, maybe two hours if it is wet, cold, and miserable.
