Re-Ring Question 444-544

If you have got calipers, measure the pistons. I'm pretty sure you will find they are .02" over as well. Physically, I bet you could have standard sized pistons in there but I bet that would make a LOT of noise as the rattled around in the engine and wouldn't be correct. If the pistons look to be in good shape, you might be able to reuse them.

But my feelings are that if I am going to put the time and effort into rebuilding an engine, I want new stuff in there (i.e. pistons) but then again the last couple of engines I have rebuilt, have needed a rebore as they were very worn or had eatten valves...
