B280F 760 PCV System 700 1988

Hey everyone,

Did a search but wasn't sure if the 4cyl and 6cyl procedures were any different

a few months back I looked into the flametrap as being a possible source of my rear main seal leak. The leak is more of an occasional drip than a full on leak, but I'd still like to fix it if it can be done with cleaning of the PCV system. My question is: when I took off the flametrap holder last time, one of the hoses was connected to the breather on the oil cap. The other smaller hose if I remember correctly was connected to the engine somewhere. I will hopefully be installing a magnefine transmission filter this weekend so I'll be under the hood anyway, figured I could check this while I'm at it. I only cleaned the flametrap holder out, there was no flametrap inside must have been removed by PO, and the line to the oil cap seemed clear. I tried to tug a little on the smaller hose at the engine side but it wouldn't come off easily so I just left it be, is it worth investigating into that? Is this the spot where the paperclip trick is used? And also, is it okay to just pull on the hose, there are no clamps on it, it's just on there pretty good.

Thanks
Darrell
