Problem on both sides? 120-130

Likely not, this is a volvo after all. But just in case...

Do you have the same issue on both sides of the car?

I experienced a serious issue when I bought 1800E hubs for a dual-circuit upgrade project on my 1968 130. I happened to have a spare 1800E crossmember in my garage, so when the new hubs arrived I test-fit them to one of the 1800E spindles.

They did not fit. I was sure something was wrong with the bearings. I spoke extensively with the seller was going to return them. As a last minute thought, I tried both hubs on the "other" spindle. I found that they both slid right onto the that spindle.

Diagnosis - damaged spindle (good thing it was a spare).

I'm told by other BBers that when the bearings seize, they can damage the spindle preventing you from easily installing a replacement.

Something to check for...
