worse comes to worse, the 'rope trick' will hold the engine. Search the boards here for details if not familiar.

While you've got that flywheel/flex plate off... now would be a grand time to upgrade to the neoprene rear seal and housing. Or at the very least, replace the existing rear seal.

But yes.. no problem doing the whole thing without pulling the engine.
