I went out to the car to get the part number on the fuel pressure regulator, I thought, wth, if it's cheap I'll replace it while I do the injectors.
I was surprised to see that the FPR looked pretty new... and it turns out, it's the FPR for BOSCH LH systems, not Regina.
Doubtless installed by the same "mechanic" that put the wrong O2 sensor in.
I saw in the FAQ that some people run the Bosch FPR on Regina cars "with good results", but I'm wondering if the results are that good. If the FPR for a Bosch system runs at a higher pressure than the FPR that is Regina-specific, if your injectors were marginal it could shoot extra gas in there and cause issues... like terrible mileage and gas in the oil. Or so I'm suspecting.
What say you all? Should I start by putting the correct FPR in (they are spendy) or should I do the injectors? Or both?
Decisions, decisions... barf.
