Good morning Jeff,

I was hoping someone else would have the information for you. It appears not.

I looked, as I am sure you did, with every search term I could think of. The closest I came was on the Autozone site where they have virtually every vacuum line except the booster shown. From the various photographs I found on different sites, it looks like the hose runs from the pump to the booster but there is a tee that connects to another device on the left bank of the engine. It looks like it might be a regulator valve of some kind that diverts vacuum from the pump for distribution.

If that link doesn't work just go to Autozone.com and add the vehicle. I don't think you have to register but you might. Navigate through to the Vehicle Repair Guide. None of the diagrams show any vacuum motors under the dash.

The very first thing they tell you on the Autozone site is that the underhood stickers showing the vacuum routing for your car are available from the dealer; that might be worth investigating.

Then there is the Volvo Tech Info web site. It would be worth the cost to get the necessary Green Book if you know which one has the information. I've got several Green Books for my 240. None of them have any information about vacuum line routing.

I am little confused about your reference to the junk yard engine. The B280F is a gas engine. If you meant you have a D24, I could find virtually no information about the diesel. Since the diesel depends entirely on the vacuum pump I would think there would be very few things running on vacuum. I would connect the pump to the booster and then tee off vacuum from the main hose to feed the vacuum reservoir. All accessories that require vacuum should get it from the vacuum tank.

That same approach might work on the B280F too. At least you would have brakes. Then you could add accessories one at a time. The only problem would be with the emissions routing and that information is on the Autozone web site.
