Hello,
A few weeks ago my O/D solenoid was not kicking and my
92 240 was not going into final gear, it was not clicking
when I pushed my o/d button on, so I replaced it.
After installing the solenoid when I pushed the o/d button
the solenoid was now clicking on/off, but I didn't drive
the car to see if it was going into final gear.
I didn't use the car for a couple of weeks and then I noticed
that there was an oil spill about 1' by 2' under the car, quite
a bit of what looks like automatic transmission fluid.
So I drove the car today and noticed that it is not going into
final gear, it seems as if the o/d is stuck off. I can hear
the solenoid (under the car on the tranny) click when I push the o/d button in.
I checked the tranny fluid after driving for about 10 minutes
and it is reading way above the full mark on the dip stick and
the fluid was not even warm? I checked the temp. of the fluid
because the dip stick on one side is for warm fluid and the reading
on the other side of the dip stick is for hot fluid.
While driving the car when I push the o/d button in the engine/tranny
does not change in any way.
Please let me know if you have any ideas of what my problem might be.
Joseph
