Odometer noise 200 1990

I thought I would fix this noise yesterday when I changed the little white gear in the odometer machine, but no deal. It's like a rattle noise which starts at about 55 mph and gets louder as I go faster. I thought surely it was that white gear with maybe a broken tooth or two, but the one which I took out was perfectly OK.
Anyway my next step on this noise chase is to go to a junkyard and pull a cluster and swap it with the one in the noise infected car.
Should I look for a '85 to '93?
Any of those years would be alright?
