First off, do not hesitate to ask any questions. You might try a search first, but if not, just ask.
No you don't have an interference engine. The Haynes, Bentley, and all the rest are derived from the Volvo repair literature published at one time by Ken Cook. The documentation covered all markets and the aftermarket publishers didn't make the effort of distilling it in all cases, but there was an instance of an 8-valve motor, I think the B-200K, that would allow contact between piston and valve, but nothing you'd find in North America.
Only 16V red blocks are valve benders.
