The stripes are only for installation.
Because of the relationship between tooth-count, teeth on the belt, on the cam/I sprocket and on the crank sprocket, they might never line up again.
My test for "It is right" is done after the tensioner bolt is tightened, and is this: Using the breaker bar and socket, rotate the engine exactly one turn, then exactly one turn the opposite direction. Then the stripes must line up.
During the turning, either direction, watch for signs that the belt is trying to "walk off" a sprocket or the tensioner roller.
Worry not, just do the above test.
