Being a cheep(frugal ?)type rather then buy IPD's OD bypass I instead dremeled out a passage in my existing OD solenoid. This basically accomplishes same thing IPD OD bypass plate does. However in your case as your OD solenoid is leaking from unit itself you can't really modify your OD solenoid as you need to get rid of the leaker. So I guess IPD OD bypass plate makes sense in your particular case. They used to just sell just the plate itself without the instructional how to video. It is simple install so if you can save $$ by just getting the part itself get it that way.
