UPDATE 120-130

Hello,

Do you have an earlier style dizzy that utilizes a small bolt through the side of the distributor for the points/condensor connection as well as the connection for the wire to the "-" post on the coil?

If you do, your insulating spacers may be worn or missing.

If the little bolt can touch the metal distributor housing, it will interfere with the coil trigger signal.

There is a repair kit available to fix this in case your post kit is in need of replacement.

The kit comes with everything you need to replace the pieces associated with the distributor post.

You also just might need a condensor.

Had a customer the other day, did his own tune up on his 1965 122 that had been sitting for over a year.

He changed everything but the condensor, but the car backfired badly and ran like crap.

I thought bad gas, but the guy insisted he drained the tank, cleaned the float bowls and put in fresh fuel.

After checking the tune up and messing with the carbs a little, I put a new Bosch condensor on and the car stopped backfiring and ran great.

Eric
