From the hub mounting surface to a stick placed across the inside of the rim.
70-145/15x4.5 measured 4&1/8" [wheel#677103]
71-72/145, 15x 5 measured 4&1/2" [wheel#68400]
No offset numbers on these.
Running some 15X6- 10 spoke 700 GL wheels that measure 4&5/8"
There is a bit of room for winter chain clearance on the older cars.
