Head gasket in Backwards???? 91 240 200

I just replaced the OEM head gasket on my 91 240 with one made by Elring from FCP Groton. Had a heck of a time with it (the head that is - getting it on and off), and am now getting paranoid - like I usually do when I do something for the first time - and am wondering if I messed the gasket placement up now that the head is torqued down. Can you put one of these on wrong?

There were small studs front and rear on the block on the passsenger side. The flat side of the filter went down this side, right? The holes on the OEM on the flat side are slightly larger - is this to idiot proof the gasket placement?

I see the "lobes" on the other side, but am concerned as they do not seem to completely match the OEM. Is the Elring different? All head bolts dropped right in, and I do not seem to have any gasket sticking out on the front or rear, on the passenger side, and just have the semi-circle lobes on the other "driver" side of the block and head that do not perfectly match the OEM.

If I go completely paranoid, can I undo the bolts on the head - I torqued them down per Bentley already - and still use the gasket?

Any reassuring information would be appreciated! Thanks as always!
