i drove into a puddle that was a lot deeper then anticipated with my volvo 960, the car stalled in the water, after a few attempts it restarted and i quickly reversed once back on dry land the car started to vibrate and white smoke began to come out of the the muffler, followed by my wheel locking in place and the break not workind. after putting on the emergency break i restarted the car again but more smoke kept coming out and it still ran real funny. in conclusion got the car towed. i know nothing about cars but my father says he is draining some oil i think and is gonna let it sit for a few days...does anyone know if we're taking the right steps. suggestions welcome. thanks.
