It might apply for different markets, but in the pictures in my 74 brochure and instruction manual, it shows that the OD switch is still a stalk switch, mounted in front of the wiper switch, ie there are two stalks on that side. It did not mention any switch on the shifter. I did notice though that the OD stalk is proportionally smaller and shorter than on the pre 73 models, and am rather surprise of the lack of mounting points at the steering column.
