I am giving my beloved 1991 745 turbo (195k miles) to my daughter this summer and I need to figure out what to get for myself.
I have considered the V70, the V70XC, but the Consumer Reports word on them is pretty bad up until 2003 or so and I would only be able to afford one up to about 2002.
I also have thought about getting a Subaru Forester or a Toyota Prius but they just don't inspire me, in spite of the wonderful, glowing ratings they get at Consumer Reports.
I have also considered a V90 if I could find one with low mileage.
I am very impressed by the longevity of cars with the B230 engine and wonder if the V70's have the same durability and longevity the older RWD cars have.
What have people experienced with the reliability of the newer Volvos?
Any ideas about all this? I would really appreciate lots of feedback from all of you out there. Thanks.
