Engine Temp Sensors 700 1986

I am doing some tuning and have been running into what I think is a bit of a rich running problem.

Something I've been looking at/thinking about is the temperature sensors, but I can't seem to figure out what they're all for.

There are 3 temp sensors, as far as I can see.

#1 - under intake manifold, screwed into block ~ cylinder #3 - single wire connection to engine temp gauge in dash.
#2 - under intake manifold, screwed into block ~ cylinder #2 - single wire connection, I think to ECU
#3 - upper passenger side radiator - two wire connection, connected to ? (maybe for Auto Climate Control system?)

Any help in clarifying what each of these is for, and/or how likely they are contributing to my rich running problem, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

-Joel
