On mine, '64 122, the speedo sounds like i have a chorus of little crickets when i'm right at cruising speed, 30-40 mph. there isn't any noise slower or at highway speeds. i don't mind it much, if it get's worse than that i'll try out my spare one, also used, to see if it abates any. I have heard of a range of noisess, though, from soft moans to blood curdling screaming.
