can I trust Car X to replace my leaking PS hose??? 200 1986

You can "feed" the leak for a while. Get four quarts of the right ATF, my 1986 uses the Dexron Mercon III type.

Store three in the trunk, one in the front. It will sit in front of the battery, next forward. Rear bottom of the ATF bottle on the battery tray, neck resting on the radiator support piece. As you can tell, BTDT

When one ATF bottle is empty, fill it 1/2 full and store both the half-full bottles up front. A half-full bottle can have the spout put much closer to the reservoir opening, making for fewer spills.

The only problem would be if the ATF leak gets catastrophic.

Leaks more with (1) lots of sharp turns, and/or (2) higher engine revs.

Check the fluid very often. Evert time you have a chance. DO NOT OVERFILL.

Good Luck,

Bob
