Peace and quiet! 140-160 1975

Magic rope trick - drop a loop of rope through the shifter hole, loop it around the trans, and have a helper pull and hold most of the weight. If you don;t have a helper you can hoist the rear of the trans up and hook the rope, it's almost as good. I've removed and replaced transmissions using special transmission hoists, and I swear the rope trick works better - holds 1/2 or more of the weight - while still allowing it to freely twist and swing back and forth.
