It has to be the coolant sensor at the back of the head. It is signaling to ECM that it is still cold, when it actually is warm, the mixture is remaing too rich for a warm engine.
That would be my next move.

Try this, count the shift points when it is warmed up. The transmission should not shift to 4th when cold, or lock the torque convertor. If all the shift points are not there, that would confirm the sensor is bad.
