AW70/AW71 transmission help needed 200 1989

My '86 240 automatic transmission has a problem. During the hot summer months the cold transmission shifts from 1 --> 2 fine. However, when the weather gets colder, the transmission sticks in 1st gear for about a half a mile or so. After the transmission gets up to operating temperatures, it shifts good. Once the car sits and gets cold, the thing sticks again. No problems at all during the hot summer months. Shifts fine then.

Fluid has been changed recently w/ new filter. Also, had transmission flush too.
Any fix for this? What can it be?
