Ways to check early Motronic fault codes??? 700 1985

What market was your car built for? US and Canadian spec Volvos didn't get a Motronic setup until the 960.

In fact the 85-89 (or so) Turbos got LH-Jetronic 2.2, which has no provision for storing codes.

If you're having trouble with a rough idle, check for any cracks in the intake or vaccum hoses. If you've got the occasional high idle, pull the idle control motor and run some carb cleaner thru it. Make sure that the hoses are okay, and then reconnect everything. On mine (the B230FT has a much different intake manifold from mine) the idle motor is bolted onto the bottom of the intake manifold. Ugh. Remove two bolts and it'll fall out, but you've got to dislodge the manifold first.
