Notes on this conversion- Chris your input would be appreciated. 200 1992

My understanding of the conversion from r21 to 134 follows:

The conversion isn't worthwhile with a Diesel Kiki compressor - get a new unit for 134a. Which brand? Two techs have said this.

Volvo says they have a 134a specific evaporator. Is this true? My r12 evap is shot.

Inorder for the performance of a 134a system to cool as well as r12 I need to install a variable orifice valve?

Under or over charging a 134a system will result in poor cooling.

Is the evaporator easy to remove on the late model 240's? I can see it with the side panel remove in some sort of plastic housing.

My 92 does have the aux cooling fan in front of the condensor - stock.
