Help me solve this (loud engine) 700 1990

Kind of like a hard drive train, does not sound like an exhaust leak, but when driving it does not 'feel' or sound like a normal brick. Sounds like the engine is realling pushing hard, though no metalic noises. Sounds like a damn airplane. I checked the bearings ect, all fine.

I did find a whine in the transmission when traveling at 5mph.
