81 245 ignition module / coil 200 81

Thought I'd try the post again. My 245 is experiencing a stuttering problem. I was able to follow a red and white wire from the ignition module on the passanger side inner quaterpanel under the front part of the oil pan. It was rubbing against the pan and shorting out. the wire then goes up into a conduit near the distributor. I am trying to figure out where the other end is. I note that a similar wire is connected to the coil. Does anyone know if this is the same wire from the module. If so can I cut out and put in a new wire, or is there a junction, relay or fuse in between? Thanks
