Re: power window quirks 200 1990

MittenHed,

I have found that the window switch contacts get scorched over time. If it is a window other than the driver's it can be either switch, i.e. the front passenger window fault can be on the driver panel or the passenger's panel. As far as I know, there is no power window relay. I have fixed mine by disassembling them, cleaning the contacts with fine (220) sandpaper. Do this on the table, on newspaper. The little parts tend to shoot all over the place when you pop the top off. And it's a bitch to put back together again. Inside are 2 ballbarings, 2 springs and two "v" shaped contacts. Have patience, and good luck!

Steve M.
