This may sound ridiculous but are you sure you have enough antifreeze to circulate through the heater core?? Low fluid level is one reason for not getting heat.

I'm not familiar with the how the heater control valve works, If it's like many cars it's just a "throttle cable" that opens duct work. I'm sure before the day's over help will be on the way.
