1990 740 Turbo Wagon? 700 1986

Hi all - I found a great wagon for sale today - a 740 turbo wagon with 82k miles, great body, runs well, no leaks, for $6500, and the guy will take my 1986 740 in trade. What offer should I make? I was thinking of offering him $3000 for the whole thing, with my trade in. Am I asking too much?
