I don't know the actual rpms (no tach) but reving it up high in second gear
(especially uphill) has produced rapid, violent backfire. Compression is low
from 110 to 125, and mileage is 181,000....Brand new plugs have helped a lot.

I will recheck the valve adjustment in future; apparently if the valves do not
stay adjusted, it could mean the lobes on camshaft are worn, requiring a new
camshaft... Thanks James
