Head for 2300cc engine 200

Thanks Guys for those very interesting replies.

The 1986cc red block has 494000 miles on it. The idea was to retain the original engine block number as I try to keep everything original.

The machine shop has now said, having taken measurements, boring out to 2316cc will compromise the water ways!

So now I must do some more research and try www.hotrod.com >circle track>engine>hotrod>news.

I have read some where that these red blocks can go to 500bhp!!!

I have put a the B230E in the 240 at the moment, but I don't know its history and I don't like that. It does go a lot better than the B200E (it was a tax break in the UK) So this is where I am coming from.

I will get a rebuilt B230E in my Volvo somehow. May be a scrap engine for total rebuild, or a B230E head.....something.

Any Guys Many thanks for helping me on my learning curve.
