140/160 Upper Ball Joints 140-160

I ordered a NOS pair of slotted upper ball joints and installed them.

It seemed to me that the slotted version didn't really restrict movement in that direction as much as I would have thought when I rotated the pin by hand before the install.

A small restriction in travel in my hand is probably magnified in application though...

I could see it causing a problem if the slotted version was installed incorrectly but it makes me wonder if the non-slotted version is acceptable?

This upper control arm ball joint is common to the 140 so I was hoping you guys might know.

Has anyone here installed the non-slotted version?

Thanks
