I'm all set to swap my alternator and generator, and thinking about dealing with the now oval-like forward hole where generator connects to bracket. This elongation is both on the bracket, and on the aluminum mounting ear (?) of generator.
The bolt which goes in there is probably going to move around in there again, and possibly make hole even bigger. I don't have proper tool to drill metal and stick a bushing in there, so I'm trying to get creative.
2 ideas so far. I have a tiny woodruff key that I can stick in the extra space and fill up the gap. OR, I was thinking of tightly packing in aluminum foil into extra space, so bolt has less of a chance of vibrating around in there, and increasing hole diameter.
I also have split lockwasher and locknut (with some plasticlike material inside) ready to use. Anybody ever deal with this issue?
