I just got my '89 240 back from the local Volvo wizard, and it's running great.
I've been driving it for months with the Check Engine light on; twice it has come on when I've been on a high-speed trip of more thhan 50 miles.
However, I had to take it on a trip last night and the check engine light came on, like clockwork, about 50 miles out. Car still running great.
I'll do the reset mode (which I learned here, thanks), but can someone offer a suggestion as to why this damned light keeps coming on even though the car runs well? I plan on asking the local guy; I have infinite trust in him. Just wanted to know if anyone else has an idea.
190,000 miles, so it's still a baby.
